Agree re Simpson his poor delivery doesn't fit that system, although guess can do a job in that system if needed, pretty sure we will get an attacking right back.

Fair play can be very defensive as ends up 5-3-2 majority of game. Need two very fit wing backs who can attack. Don't think that will fit Simpson IMO. Solid right back but not attaching enough

the right back Newcastle signed today from Feyenoord for £5M would have been very good in a 3-5-2. and with Traore or Yun on the other side it would be an attacking formation rather than a 5-3-2.

Does anyone recall the Jim Smith side that played 3-5-2. Unless I have forgotten, that wasn't a very defensive side.

Firstly have no information on this but seems we are interested in Algerian centre midfield player from inter, saphir tadier only 22 but only joined them last year so not so sure it will come to much. Also seems Fernandes was telling people in the club shop today that Caulker was ours so seems info was right.

Not had internet, see Ferdinand almost sorted, think there might be a couple of surprises, several possibilities Fer, Sigthorson but also the Greek and Italian lads. Also think there will be an attacking right back as think he might go for three at the back. Fingers crossed.
