  • Another Signing Thread

Anyone else find it a tad frustrating from Tony that on 07/07 he put a message on instagram saying, 'closing on our 1st signing, thanks to our scouts, stay tuned to instagram'.. Yet 9 days later nothing has been confirmed haha.. Not really sure I get the point in saying something like that.
Looks like we have learnt from signing randomers but we still don't seem professionals in the whole negotiating stage.

Rio's dragged on for ages, Caulkers gone from being close to done, to losing out to Palace. (bit like the hooper deal last season)

Then again, the club and Ian Taylor seem to have been quite quiet today so maybe there will be a signing later today!

Just because it hasnt been announced, doesnt mean it hasnt been pretty much finalised. I expect the Rio deal has long been agreed in principle. I expect the Rio deal has long been agreed just couldnt be finalised until he was back in country to do medical and formalities etc. Probably many others bubbling under the surface and they may announce 3 players at once in a big press conference for all we know. He wants media attention.

Just don't understand why you would saying.. 1st signing nearly done and then still not announce anything 9 days later

If it doesn't happen something like this Isleworth will have to remember to pack his boots to make up the squad numbers on tour

We're all pissing in the wind, press largely included. All speculation. To my knowledge there has been no official confirmation of, uh, anything at all.

Opinions are interesting, but we're all speculating on scenarios which may or may not come to pass.

No, not frustrating at all. When, if anyone signs, it will be on official. Until then, not worth stressing() about.

You know this quote will most likely be brought up again if Caulker ends up signing for Palace yeah?
