I've never been a fan of having the goalkeeper as captain. How can he lead the team from one end of the field?

Neither have I. But who else? I was thinking the oldies are not going to be starting regularly. Not sure if Nedum fits. Barton first choice no doubt. I guess Hill can be backup but we still need a third choice.

I just think Joey doesn't concentrate on his game when his captain and thinks he has to get in unnecessary situations just because he is captain. For me it should be Chief and let Joey play his football

I'm with you here...joey seemed to try a little too hard and felt the need to get involved with absolutely everything when he was captain...

Without that added 'pressure', he can just play football.

As an aside, I don't think joey needs an armband to be a leader on the pitch...

Rio all day long. Joey might not even be a starter, solid championship player, weak Prem player. The team that went up is so poor wd be amazed if anyone from that crop is made captain. Clint is the only one with the character but he won't be playing, so the perfect club capt but not team capt.
