I agree Richard that we need to entice people back and imo we have a chance of increasing our regular goers
but not by the amount that some have banded about.

Well I didn't bank on Rangers fans bringing every tunt they know!!!

Anyone there will be hundreds of tickets floating about on a match day. It will be a special day for us.

Then again, the vast majority of these people going on Saturday have some form of connection with the club, and have just stopped going for one reason or another. There is quite obviously a far larger fan base than currently turns up on a regular basis.

The club needs to find a way to entice those people to go more often.

It's an interesting topic. I think it is agreed that to make the new stadium viable it needs to attract a significantly high % of ST holders.
From previous threads you pose the question who ST holders have given tickets to as that might assist in filling the stadium. It's hard to say but I think friends and family, it's start of half term, bank holiday w/e, 3 on Saturday ....a lot of ST holders are treating it as a day out. Those that accompany IMHO won't become hooked because they are going with long standing ST holders and could have become ST but have chosen not to.
However I think the question as to whether we sell a 40k should be why non ST holders like you are attending Wembley but are not ST holders.
It can't be price as the a Wembley tickets are significantly more than our home game against Donny.
Can't be access, as LR is easier to get to for most fans than Wembley.
Can't be views, as unless youre completely incompetent anyone can get prime seats at LR.

Er, have you not noticed we sold out, and the last remaining tickets went to non-season ticket holders and members that were on the club's database? Did you go to Cardiff for the play offs?

The fan base is there. The trick is to get more of these people going regularly.

The fan base is there for one off, massive games, something you can't compare to a full league campaign.

Wigan away was a huge game, we took 3k! That's brilliant for a club of our size, which is around 25k as a stable Premier League club.

The only times we got 25k plus ,in the 80s were when we were swamped with away fans ( except Palace in 82 maybe )

It will be more expensive in the long run, but I think the 30k stadium plan built with the potential to expand to 40k makes the most sense for where the club currently is.

I wonder If we really have that amount of fans when we do not fill Loftus Road in some games. Even If all QPR fans living abroad come over how can we really sell out our 39,180 allocation? I recken some of the fans coming are neutral who have come to Loftus Road (on database) once or twice in their life coming to enjoy the game plus some neurtal coming with their QPR friends and others who bought tickets through touts.

Having said so, the club has to attract the fans who do not come regularily through perhaps qutionaires to find out what the main reasons preventing them from coming (work, distance. price, travel expenses) and work out good ticket pricing. Our regular fans could increase to perhaps 25k so I think the new stadium should not exceed 30K but as Tony is targeting concerts I think 40k is good although the empty seats will look awful during QPR games.

If I remember rightly, didn't Tony Fernandes say that when we got promoted to the prem, we had twice the number of season ticket applicants than we sold? It's also known that new build stadiums attract a significantly higher number on the gate.

I know some disagree with me on the subject, but I'm of the belief that our fan base number is a little underestimated. Even if you took away 15k going on Saturday and viewed them as rarely-attending casuals, that still leaves 25k fans that the club needs to convert to regular attendees. Add to that a 5k away support and we've reached 30k.

A 30k stadium leaves no room for the expansion of the fan base. Should we produce a successful team over the next few years, demand for tickets will increase but we won't be able to satisfy that demand. It is this fan base expansion that is the the future lifeblood of our club.

I want to see a successful QPR like everyone else. On Saturday we'll witness a QPR army that has not been seen for many a year. Wouldn't it be great to see to see that army at every game in the future?

I dont know how you can keep arguing the same point over and over, we all know where you stand on this. Saturday is one off game and our loyal 15,000 support will be bolstered by lapsed Rs and hangers on ,who cant be relied upon to go regularly , everyone agrees this is a great turnout but it is not indicative of our support .
