That brilliant news, announced by Harry at his press conference, deserves a thread of its own..... Hat tip Hitman.

          Definitely worth another year.

Would hope the club encourage him to enroll in a coaching course (if he isn't already doing so) to keep him on once his playing days are over.

QPR are set to offer captain Clint Hill a new one-year contract.

The veteran defender, whose current deal is due to expire this summer, recently indicated that he would like another 12 months as a player at Loftus Road with a view to a future coaching role.

Chief executive Philip Beard has held informal talks with Hill and boss Harry Redknapp believes the contract will be signed before the end of the season.

Redknapp says he is also convinced the 35-year-old will succeed as a coach and manager once he hangs up his boots.

“I’m sure he will eventually, but he can still play,” Redknapp declared.

“We’re looking to give him another year as a player. The club need to keep him here because he’s invaluable as a person and as a player.

“He’s a fantastic competitor but he’s also a very, very good footballer with real quality and a great left foot.

“He can pass, he can play and is a fantastic professional – an amazing, top-class guy.”

Hill has made almost 150 appearances for Rangers since being signed from Crystal Palace in 2010.

I love that fella. If others in our squad had a tenth of his professionalism and effort we'd be top of the championship.

                  fully agree.

what the man lacks in talent, he makes up for with pure heart and determination.

love how he winds up some of the away fans during matches as well.

welldone clint, you truely deserve it.

You dont get many players over the years that is a firm fans favourite from their first game. I dont think anyone has a bad word to say about him. Same with former players like Ainsworth, Gallen, Furlong, Ferdinand etc.
