I thought I'll come on WATRB and ask the simple question....How did we play?...Having read this thread I'm none the wiser.
Oh well 3 points is 3 points ...if we got a bit of luck again we deserve it after all the awful luck we've had.
We were brilliant tonight. A bit like we were at the start of the season in that tight never say die unit, but played a lot better and much more fluid than back then. Best home performance of the season for me against a really good side, and now we should fear nobody in the play off semis or the final. Especially if its wigan.

That's exactly what we did first half closing them down quickly, as at Boro, and not at Wednesday. No coincidence we took 6pts from these last two. That's what you want to see from your team every week.

Yeah. I enjoyed tonight. We did really, really well against a top team. We created chances. And we won. I'm ever so pleased.

Thanks Kev...as i say 3 good points, and agree the lads should get a lift from beating very good inform team without some of our main boys.

Wigan weren't unlucky tonight. They came out second half fighting...but got nothing out of it. Was it just me or did the atmosphere seem better tonight?

No it was blinding, the nerves have gone cos everyone knows we are guaranteed a play off place and the pressure is off the players and the fans . Its a more relaxed atmosphere now. Roll on saturday.

Wigan boss Uwe Rosler: "I think everybody in the stadium, when they are realistic, saw we should have got something out of that game.

QPR were obviously the team favourite before the season to go up, and the way we played, apart from the first 10 minutes, was very, very good.

We had more attempts on goal, bigger chances and the clearer chances. I felt our morale, attitude and application was top draw.

The QPR goalkeeper, for me, was the man of the match. I think maybe Roy Hodgson should have a look at him."

                I like his final sentence

Get our injured players back and we'll batter them in the playoffs!

We dominated second half until the last five mins.

Its so subjective though isn't it. I guarantee you if the tables were reversed last night most of us would be saying we'd have been unlucky to lose and would have at least deserved a point. The point is it is virtually impossible to be a passionate fan of a club and yet be completely impartial. That's just part of what being a true fan is all about. I don't think that is such a controversial statement if the truth be told.

Do we really need to encourage the doom and gloom atmosphere on here by the only thread on the match being one bemoaning the opposing teams misfortune and making it appear we didnt deserve the win yeah?

Kev, I basically agree with you, and to be fair this isn't the only thread on the match. My point above is really just opening the debate up to the bigger picture of how we (as passionate fans) are in general, regardless of our particular partisanship.

Im not beefing stan mate, but this is the only match thread since we won. The rest are on single players. Would of been so much better if it was titled 'great rangers win, but wigan can fell unlucky'.

Yeah pity there weren't more threads on the game. I was expecting them tbh. But thats a decent title mate. Happy to amend it to that
