I also wrote to them in 2005 and recommended they sign Sammy Youssouf. Stefan Moore, Dean Sturridge and Ugo Ukah

I wrote to QPR in 2005 too, just informing them that I'd heard a rumour, that Ian Holloway was talking to Leicester City about their managers job. Didn't hear back ........so no harm done!!

It will be a big loss. His job was to set up a proper scouting infrastructure for the club in multiple countries and by all accounts was doing a good job. For example, we have some South American lads (u15) on our books who we have training full time with a couple of Italian teams (easier to get EU passport). If they develop, they come to us, if not they get released. I dont think his mandate was to scout the likes of Benayoun. If you look at our list of scouts on the official site, he was in charge of them all. There's a reason Arsene Wenger wanted him...!

That's interesting & if true which I'm sure it is it's quite a blow to Harry & the club as we've been crying out for a half decent youth set up for donkey's years.

Rats off the sinking ship..... Wenger's priorities are totally different, we simply don't have a development culture at ours.

True. many seem to forget that scouts usually do most of their work finding promising young players forbthe developing squads to prepare them for 1st team football. much like scouts such as Chris Geiler (spelling may be wrong) did in the 70s & 80s withfinding talented kids like Goddard Allen Hucker McDonald Waddock Dawes Neill & Fereday and many others.

Who's to say that this scout hasn't brought in few 15 & 16 year olds to the club?
