My only concern about the move is the lack of pubs in the area.
My old man was the star player for HMP Parkhurst during their successful and unbeaten 77/78 season.

I imagine there will be eating and drinking establishments built into the plan for the area. You can't build an area that big without putting in somewhere for people to go to feed themselves.

i would prefer a W postcode because like many people born South of the river i have a bit of an aversion to North London. ( one of my smaller concerns about the move though tbh )

But most if not all of the w postcodes are north of the river, which to a south Londoner would be north London anyway?

Could someone please educate me.Does the proposed site include the land owned by the expansive CarGiant? I ask this as the local and National news coverage and outside broadcasts appear to show the gates and perimeter railings of CarGiant, unless I am mistaken.I'm probably wrong and it's nowhere near OOC.I ask this as my mate took me on a nostalgic journey on my 70th birthday which included our old haunts as kids and teenagers including,Greenford,Hanwell(schools),Portobello Rd etc.Over 50 years ago,he served an apprenticeship at what was Rolls Royce, now CarGiant. As mentioned,I'm probably mistaken, but we'd both be happy if you could clear this up.

Look at the BBC website page about the new ground which tells you what the old oak area is. From what I've seen from pictures on other sites is that the ground is nearer to scrubs lane side than the old oak common lane side.

If you don't mind a 10 minute walk plenty of grotty boozers akin to the Conningham ,White Horse in Harlesden.

Worked in Harlesden for quite a few years a while back and got to know a few grotty pubs down that way. However there were more drinking dens than pubs, just looking forward to plenty of red stripe and loads of the locals home grown finest.

As recommended by WCE,I checked the plans on the BBC site and compared these to the CarGiant site on Google Earth and it definitely appears that the Car Giant site accounts for about two thirds of the total site proposed for a new stadium plus around 19,000 new homes etc.I bet CarGiant are happy - not.

It's a valid point. Part of my enjoyment of LR is the area....I only go there for QPR and can't see me going there ever again when we move. Shame as I have grown to love it warts and all. Really lik ethe pubs around the ground too.
