Blinding goal scorer and would have loved him on the right deal, but 4 years at his age? No thanks - they're welcome to him.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Who knows where we will be in three years and the last year of his deal, and who knows what he would be like at 34, imagine how pished off everyone would be if hes sat on his arris collecting 90 lumps every week for the last year or two of his contract. Mad deal, and we would be mad to even think about it.

If defoe wants to play in the world cup I think he would be better of playing in a very competitive championship rather than going to Canada.

If he wants the money, then my advice would be go and don't look back because I can't see any other club matching that offer.
            SIR LESLIE FERDINAND!!

Can't see him going to Toronto or QPR. All pipe dreams. Can see him going somewhere like Newcastle or Sunderland.

It's all over the news here this morning so I think there is something to it! He will be the most expensive signing in MLS history and could help revive Toronto FC as the fanbase has been dwindling due to not making the play offs in its 7 year existence!

Yes there is, it's about a 2 hour drive west of Toronto! I wonder if that's what he's referring to?

gator you seem like a good chap but can you tell me what this having a great big flag outside your or fellow countrymen is all about. I expect it in america because they're nuts and over the top but I can't work out why Canada follow suit. Not got a problem with being proud and canada has allot more to be proud about than the screwed up wild west US but I just don't buy into it at all.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Are you referring to the Canadian flag on the Canadian based teams jerseys in MLS?

And still there's people GUTTED we are not players last big pay day?

                              Madness.

JD is a TOP player and IMHO has been the best English striker in the country for a while.
The refusal of AVB to play him when Spuds are looking for goals is just plane crazy and I'd have him in my team all day long.

However committing £18.7 MILLION on one player is the act of a simpleton for a club like us. The fact that player would be 31 / 32 years old goes beyond simpleton and into the realms of criminal insanity.

Good luck to JD wherever he ends up

                              Next...........
I need some time in the sunshine, I gotta slow it right down.
