Redknapp - Diakite could be important to us still

“He could, possibly [leave], if someone wants to take him,” said Redknapp.

“I’m not mad about loaning him out, because we need a squad here. He could be important to us still. He’s here training but hasn’t got into the side. He will get his opportunity though I’m sure. He’s been working hard and has shown a good attitude this year, so it’s up to him.”

Good to hear that he is training hard and attitude is right. I just hope that when he gets his chance he takes it by putting in a shift on the pitch and I also hope Harry plays him in a position where he's comfortable (CM) not out wide where he was played last.

Doubt Harry's being truthful here. We're hardly short at CM. Carroll, Faurlin, Barton, O'Neil, Henry and Jenas. If three of those get injured he might end up on the bench I guess.

Fingers crossed, I would say he could be the best midfielder at the club if properly coached!

              I don't personally agree.

At the end of the day it all comes down to his attitude but with regards to his ability he can offer much more than any of the other names mentioned.

He is the only player capable of carrying the ball and that would be very effective in this league. I could see a place for him in a 5 man midfield. He would also give us a real presence but again this all comes down to attitude. Lets remember he is no M'bia, diakite does have real qualities but he needs to be in the right mind set and if he is working hard then that's a start.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I always liked him as a player and was very pleased when we signed him. However, he then let us down when we needed him.

wouldn't have him nowhere near the starting 11, i'd buy him a one way ticket to mali

Mad man tackler and a bit of a nutter but he's still a decent player with bags of potential imo.

Agree CM is best position but could, ahem, cover for Simpson at right back. Always liked him. Ball carrier, bit mad in the tackle and his appearance on the Crossbar Challenge did make me wonder. Apart from that he's great.
