One more slightly nagging question in my mind. How come AJ went to Palace to sign and we all knew about it, cos the sky reporter and others said he was there, but nobody knew or knows anything about our new striker that fell through, the one who was replacing AJ (who didn't even want to leave us) ? Very odd, who was this mystery man that would serve us better than the only striker we have who has scored. All a bit Colombo to me this. A modern day mystery

Don't know, might of been, but it is very strange how this mystery man that was deemed good enough to let AJ go back 'home' has remained shrouded in such total secrecy, even up to now. Nobody else managed to keep anything secret from the transfer decline day, not even united or arsenal. We must be getting good eh.

No problem myself with AJ on this he has done nothing untoward, not sure what else he was meant to do.

Exactly, that's why I'm not too bothered by whatever went on!

Maybe we will go back in for the mystery man on an emergency loan....so are keeping it quiet?

little rascal. all forgiven though - seems as though the club were happy to let him leave as they thought they could get someone better

My son just called me from the Open day and said someone asked AJ what had happened. He said he had received a call telling him to go down to Palace for a medical.

As I suggested on another thread -

Hopefully, ALL parties will be happy in 9 months time.

We get promoted on the back of some valuable goals and assists from AJ in the last year of his contract.

Palarse get their man on a free, to do the same again. Saving a fee.

AJ gets to go 'home' & another 3 years employment.

Would be interesting to know who our target/s were.
Maybe their price went up also at the last minute ?
Maybe we'll go back for them if they don't make their clubs 25 later today (assuming they from the Prem ?)

Cameron Jerome was supposed to come to us. Didn't happen. Johnson wasn't allowed to go.

Didn't he end up at Palace?

Jerome wasn't coming here, he was palaces. How would he of had time to not sign for us and then sign for them in time, if AJ was being replaced by him, and he couldn't make it? And I'm not being funny, but is harry not a clever manger, would he swap AJ for Jerome?
