    Some people are abusing Parker

because he didn't join us like when Hooper didn't. They seem to forgot we are a Championship, not PL club. What's the point of them joining us when they are not interested? Think about what happened to us last season. We only want players who want to join us for football reasons.

We have more than our fair share of d1ck head fans, the majority of which lurk on Twitter and clearly never go to games. I just tend to ignore them now.

Fair play to Parker, he's got himself a 3 year deal at a Premier League side when he's 33 next month. No hard feelings whatsoever.

Was never going to come, just like hooper, the clubs can agree a fee but the player has the final word, and they both wanted prem league football, forget Defoe as well , these sort of names just wont drop a division. Townsend is another one who wants to stay in the top flight if he was sold.

Players who choose the championship over a PL option only do so for money AND guaranteed playing time as opposed to being a bench warmer.

Agreed its stupid and childish to hassle him, be a grown up and just move on.

Another factor for a 32 year old to join Fulham, apart from Prem football of course, is there are fewer league games over a season.
Times that by three and its a bit as he is getting older. He may well end up like Ray Wilkins when he was here, somebody will have to do his running for him!

Can't deny that I'm gutted we didn't get him, but at the same time if it makes the board give Barton a new contract or whatever else it takes to keep him here, then it will be a blessing in disguise for me

Have to disagree with you all. Not about the abuse, because that is just stupid. But if he had no intention of joining, he should have said so straight away. He has used us just like Hooper. And sadly for us, we have allowed that to happen again.

I dont think I agree with that BrightonR

I think he would have joined if a better offer had not have come along, negotiations and choices, you take the opportunity that best suites you not the first one that comes along, I think in that respect Parker has only done what most people would do in real life

as for the planks giving him abuse, do they really think he is going to be bovered, its only the good (!) name of QPR that is damaged by these comments by association

Any player who is good enough to play in the PL and is wanted by a PL club would choose that option, and if he chose the championship option it would only be for money and guaranteed football. These guys want to play at the top for as long as they can, prestige matters.

I don't think it represents much tbh. A handful of people can make a lot of noise online.
My guess is that FFC would have offered double the wages and contract duration of anything Harry can offer him while trying to balance the books which he seems keen on. That plus EPL football giving Parker some chance of playing in the WC probably made a big difference. Players like him actually care about playing for their country like few others.
He is a top quality player though - would have been good to get him - hope the club doesn't skimp on the offer to Parker only to spunk it on gambles like Zapata though.

Exactly my point. If nobody else wanted him, he would have been happy to take QPR's money.

If it were me, then I would have either signed or declined due to wanting a PL club. But I am not an overpaid professional footballer with absolutely no conscience.

Parker also wants to play in the PL the season before the world cup.
he's not a first team pick for England but will probably be in the squad if he plays well in the PL, where he will get more noticed than in the champ
no hard feelings, just a shame all our targets seems to get lots of publicity, which seems to invite other bids.
