£7 million? Fark me. I'd take that if the board are not willing to shell out anymore. We'd get Townsend and a half decent striker for that.

Good work by Hughes? Since when did a manager do the deal for any player, all down to the Board and I believe Phil Beard does all our deals. You know, the non football man that doesn't have a scooby

...anyway, stoke don't have £7m to throw about on players (which is why they're trying the loan route).

Sparky has probably blown all of the money on his own wages.......

                haha

i'd keep him, he'll play well this season and our squad is lacking in wingers/pace. we'll struggle to get someone as good or better & it would basically guarantee SWP a starting place

Quite shocked at the low fee to be honest. We paid 4 million for him!

I'd take that 7 million and put on a 25% sell on fee, make out he is one of the best out there.

                        Did we?

It was decided by tribunal and I thought it was a bit less than that!

Yes, it is great how all of a sudden he is a World beater and must not be sold.

However, I do think that if he can rediscover his Blackburn form, he could be a frequent match winner in the Championship.

QPR have recouped 12M for Samba £2M for Remy and £1M for Mackie, and with the savings from not paying wages to the likes of Bosingwa, Park, Cisse, Ferdinand, Granero, Taarabt, Remy, Bothroyd, Campbell etc must surely mean the club can afford to say no (unless the clause is a buyout one and not like the Suarez one where the club's duty is to inform him of the bid).
If the latter, I would rather keep hold of him and try and buy Townsend or Phillips to add to the attacking options.

I would have thought that we got some sort of loan fee for Taarabt and Granero too!

nothing was announced so I think it was just that they are paying their wages.
