I noticed that too. I think they get on well together and I remember a tweet from Barton once saying he never realised how good Faurlin was until he worked with him.

He is still all of those things apart from being a poor footballer, one good game does not change that, 10 in a row might.

Barton's attitude was brilliant yesterday. He was dishing out instructions to everyone and was encouraging the players when they gave the ball away. What pleased me was to see his reaction to Andy Johnson's goal - he genuinely looked pleased. Considering that his relationship with the board isn't the greatest, fair play to him for putting in a shift yesterday.

Maker of his own demise though. Don't really blame Hughes for freezing him out after that disgrace at City. Hopefully he's learnt his lesson, because he is certainly an asset the way he played yesterday.

I thought faurlin was pony through out, decent tackling but dreadful passing and FA creativity

Perfect league for Barton and Faurlin, Barton played really well for 50 minutes but felt in the end his fitness started to show.

Faurlin lack of pace is a problem for the premiership, and the Championship is all about determination and fighting for your team ! So Barton and Faurlin will do well.
