FWIW - a couple of high profile QPR fans were guests (presumably at the behest of Mark Devlin) at the Brentford v Celtic game on Saturday and appear to have info that Hooper has indeed signed for us pending a medical as posted on other messageboards over the weekend. Take that as you find it....

To be honest I don't doubt that some sort of a verbal agreement was made between Hooper and someone at the club. There was too much speculation, odds being slashed at bookies and people that know what they are talking about backing us to sign him for not to have been any truth in it. The problem is that nothing is done until it's done and football is a murky old business with a lot of dodgy characters. I'm guessing that someone has been in Hooper's ear and convinced him too stall the transfer cos he can get him a move to West Ham, Norwich or whoever else. This is the reason why the top managers don't like being asked about transfers and always underplay any business they are doing until the player has signed!

West Ham only going for one more striker and apparently have tabled a bid for Jelavic at Everton and Kalou is the backup if that goes wrong so would be slightly surprised if that's where Hooper ended up.

The fact is I think we are the only club talking to Hooper and therefore he is literally holding out for Norwich or WHU to up and meet the Celtic requirements for the transfer

He's in the squad tomorrow because he is still a Celtic player and good one at that.
