That's probably true. I'd be very surprised if he wasn't desperate to have a crack at the top league.

Its the same old story with this club, we could have had Le Fondre & Austin for peanuts when they were playing for Swindon yet we bought all the wrong players looking for a finale payday.

Sometimes this club gets me down.
He went to Celtic 3 years ago!

Would be a brilliant signing, but just have to question why he joins us over West Ham, Palace or Norwich? Surely the Prem is the next destination for players who are clearly too good for the SPL, like Wanyama going to Southampton.

where are all the posts jumping on this saying nooooo should be buying young hungry championship players not 25 year olds or that the club cannot afford to be paying big money wages because that is what it would take or that he would only come for the money to swap the champions league for the championship and the club must learn from last year etc all seems to apply to Hooper just as much as any other target.

Anyway so i havent seen much of him except seeing celtic in the cl but from what I saw in terms of football he looks like a poacher in the darren bent style - plays on the shoulder of the last defender and comes alive in the box. If that is what he is I dont think just dropping him or bent or any other poacher into the team last year would have massively improved the goals tally. Partly because their wasn't really a team there to join and partly because chances were not being created and poachers are passengers without service.

££££££££££££££££ ....same way we attracted our current crop of superstars.

how much more we are ready to pay him than Norwich a week? If Norwich offering him something like 25000-30000£ a week are we going something like 40000-45000£? Who knows

Le Fondre was never at Swindon either.

I can't see the point in signing him unless we sign some creative midfielders! He finishes every chance he gets but won't create goals on his own! He will be a flop if he joined our current team, SWP isn't going to give him chances he needs!

I think Hooper is very doubtful. We will only attract players on their way down or needing to break through.

What's the point of signing creative midfielders if we haven't got anyone to bang them in.
