What makes me angry is that we could had bought Hooper last year for £1m before he went to Celtic. Now we have to pay £5m and offer more money.

Its the same old story with this club, we could have had Le Fondre & Austin for peanuts when they were playing for Swindon yet we bought all the wrong players looking for a finale payday.

where are all the posts jumping on this saying nooooo should be buying young hungry championship players not 25 year olds or that the club cannot afford to be paying big money wages because that is what it would take or that he would only come for the money to swap the champions league for the championship and the club must learn from last year etc all seems to apply to Hooper just as much as any other target.

Anyway so i havent seen much of him except seeing celtic in the cl but from what I saw in terms of football he looks like a poacher in the darren bent style - plays on the shoulder of the last defender and comes alive in the box. If that is what he is I dont think just dropping him or bent or any other poacher into the team last year would have massively improved the goals tally. Partly because their wasn't really a team there to join and partly because chances were not being created and poachers are passengers without service.
