CESAR in car boot sale fiasco

Is it just me or are we just giving our players away. Arsenal hoping to seal the deal for Cesar for a paltry 1.5mill.... When you look at the values being touted around for other premiership goalkeepers such as Ruddy at Norwich and the guy at Stoke, surely even at 33, Cesar is worth more than that.

Especially after his performance in the confederation cup.

It seems to me that we tend to let players go without recouping decent returns ... Cisse and others .

When was the last time we received a decent fee for one of our players.

I can only think of Les Ferdinand.

Going back to Arsenal's offer, i think i would rather keep him than give him away to those sharks, even at 80k a week

For me anything less than 4mill is a joke for Brazil's no.1

some good games but some shockers too - swansea and villa away come to mind - strikers and wingers can blow hot and cold but a keeper needs to be reliable - would get shot of cesar and get in someone to teach green the ropes, Friedel would be a good choice

That could be said of most goalkeepers .... Its more about how he is currently regarded by others, and i would say he's up there with the best of them.

Look at his pedigree and furthermore look at the interest coming from Italy.

1.5mill is insulting and we should tell them where to go

I reckon the deal's a long way off. No way we'd accept £1.5m and Arsenal are just looking for competition for their 2 other keepers.

Someone to teach Green the ropes? This isnt some young gk we are talking about zeb, Green should already be experienced enough.

true that is a phrase usually associated with younger players but keepers mature much later than outfield players and my point was that that to improve him imo he needs someone alongside him who has been there done and willing to share his knowledge and fridel ticks all those boxes and prob available

At Greens age I doubt there is much improving to be done.

If possible I would get rid and bring in someone like Friedel/Scwarzer as number 1 with Murphy and Lumley back up.

that is true for most of the squad though. given a free choice i would get shot of most of them green included and improve the wage bill in the process, but free choices dont come around often

agree about Scwarzer same type as friedel.

wages aside is Friedel/Scwarzer + Murphy better than Friedel/Scwarzer + Green?

unfortunately players are not valued like houses.....

A player is only worth what someone is willing to pay, I think QPR are holding out for a better price but it depends who is interested. There is a long way to go yet and I think we'll get over £2m for him

We need to offload him ...one of the big earners I'm surprised teams have offered any money, as it's us needing to sell

Even so.. the goalkeeper that is number one for the potential confederations and world cup winners and is still relatively young for a keeper should be valued at way more than £2 mil. especially if the likes of ruddy are valued at £4mil it does seem that we are a soft touch when it comes to selling our players!
