Peterborough United today (June 21) confirmed London Road’s worst kept secret - coach Eoin Jess has left the club.

Posh announced the appointment of Gary Breen as first-team coach earlier this month, but declined at that time to confirm that Jess was now surplus to requirements.

Ferguson blamed cost for the departure of Jess who had been at Posh for less than a full season.

The club’s head of sports science Ben Mackenzie has also left Posh by mutual consent.

No it doesn't .....could be paper talk, but you need the odd older head I think

Yea, but in that case they could just stick with Bent. Less wage and won't have to pay any fee. Just what I am thinking.

Dwight Gayle is not that young (22). He started out at Arsenal but they let him go. He then worked as a carpenter and played for Stansted. He has either developed late or had a good season at Peterborough. Hope it is the former.

Think he was at Dagenham & Redbridge too, which brought him to the attention of the Posh....

He is not excatly a "Grant Holt" type of player, but very unorthodox in his play and difficult to mark.

Yes, he signed in January for 500,000 which with add ons could amount to 750,000. OK he did well for Peterborough, but I can't imagine Peterborough would get that much more now.

Think everyone is getting well carried away with Dwight Gayle. Dont see what the fuss is about. Scored 6 goals in 20 games for Posh after signing permanently and 3 were in one game! Dont see him being any better than DJ Campbell. Hope im wrong but think signing him will be a mistake.

He's younger than DJ. I agree we should not get too excited. Don't think he is worth more than a million and his wage should reflect normal wages of championship teams and below.

I think a loan would be a good idea to see how he fits in with the possibility of making it permanent in January.

He's a good young promising stiker, be a good addition to the squad imo as long as he's not too expensive......he won't be our saviour, but he's lightning quick, good option from the bench.

He creates space for others. Jeez, It not all about goals. Besides, Who did bother to run at defenders in a constructive way for us this year?
