Cost us that crucial game at Villa. Green, with some TLC, will do nicely next season. He ought play Saturday.

TYes, not when we have Green who an instead let shots go through him (Swansea), flap an own goal (WBA) or play his defence in trouble to conced goals (Newcastle).Originally posted by qpr View PostVery much so, especially when they got an injury after a car crash, wasnt the same player after his injury & people still think he's incredible because of what he's done in the past.
All I want is a consistent goalie, not a non decisive, flapping, can't catch, non commanding, cant sort out his defenders, palming the ball into the 6 yard box for strikers to score goalie. Not too much to ask really, especially when Rob Green was already at the club

My thoughts exactly! I remember the site being in near meltdown about Green's performance after the Swansea game and when we played Walsall in the cup he got a ridiculous amount of abuse, granted he's had a few good games but I don't think people should forget he's cost us on a fair few occasions this season too. Don't think it'd be a bad idea to look at getting in a younger keeper who'd stick around for a few seasons.Originally posted by stanistheman View PostT

After all, he is NO 1 goalie from Brazil. That being said, he is one of our wage-eaters.Originally posted by BUSHRANGER1982 View Post'Too good to play in England's second tier.' Huh? He's good, but he's not that much above being a Championship goalkeeper.
In short, He is very good goalie easily one of the best in the world and has done a lot for us(problem was our defense) and its good to have him gone to another club and save our money/

Al Habsi isn't good anymore, even the Korean footballers you underrate get loads of goals against him in worldcup qualification matches over the past 5 years.Originally posted by West Acton View PostI was impressed with Cesar and rated him over Green but since the Southampton game he has gone downhill. Got to say I am not overly impressed with either of them and if we could shift both I would.
Would replace with Al Habsi if we could; out of favour at Wigan at the moment

Totally agree on that. Everything QPR (SDlewis) was listing with regards to flaws in Cesars game I thought you could also apply to Green.Originally posted by DeepcutHoop View PostI'm expecting him to go, and won't be too heartbroken, but Rob Green is effectively exactly the same kind of keeper, with perhaps a greater tendency to drop one in his own net. The criticism of Cesar parrying the ball too much certainly applied to Green in the previous couple of games.
Ridiculously we need to get a decent keeper over the summer, I assume it'll have to be a young promising one as cover for Green, as he's far too costly to leave on the bench in the Championship.

If we had kept Paddy Kenny and experienced the type of season we just have, the fury at his performances would have been uncontainable; we would no doubt have screamed 'If only we had bought Green or Cesar when they were available we wouldn't be in this mess!'.Originally posted by NortholtRanger View PostI dont think Cesar or Green are much of an improvement on Kenny if at all.
Would have been better off keeping him between the sticks this season but then I guess MH didnt have faith in him.
Only a concrete wall would have saved us this season.

I think you're probably right. Cesar and Green have dropped more clangers each this season that Paddy Kenny did in the 2 previous seasons put together!Originally posted by NortholtRanger View PostI dont think Cesar or Green are much of an improvement on Kenny if at all.
