Rubbish. He has been good & he's been poor. I didn't want to be dragged into this but two mistakes off the top of my head was West Ham getting beat at the near post which is criminal in goalie terms & AstonVilla when he should of come for the ball just before Ht & didn't. As far as I'm concerned that goal to Aston Villa changed everything & we went on to lose (not to say we would of won but IMO that goal cost us dear). IMO the Aston Villa game finished us off. Yes he's been amazing in games ( Chelsea etc ) but he's also been inconsistent.Originally posted by 3London View PostUnbelievable ! some of the Posts on this thread! The Man has been Class in almost every game he has played this season! with out some of his performances we would probably already be down!
Some people have very short memories.
If he does go so be it but he has stated that he would like to stay.
The speed at which fans turn on the players at our club is depressing at times
In the Premier League you need consistent players who won't blow hot & cold. With Green you know what you're getting week in week out. Ask normal headed West Ham fans, they loved him for years & said he'd get you at least 10 points a season by his big saves in big games ( ie Saints away last 5 mins, unreal saves when we were under massive pressure, WBA in the cup, a rocket wouldn't of beaten him that game). Sharing your opinion of fans turning on players too quickly, most didn't give Green a chance which is not what a 'supporter' does. Green with confidence can be unplayable ( anyone else remember the Championship play off final against Blackpool. What a performance from Green in another big game )
Don't be having digs at people for having 'short memories' when you're the one forgetting Cesar's inconsistent performances.
I happen to adore Cesar because he was an idol of mine growing up, hence why I call him one of the greats. But I prefer Green based on consistent performances & I also feel its a matter of time before Cesar doesn't clear the ball properly & pushes the ball into the 6 yard box for a Premier League striker to slot home, where as Green puts big strong punches & parrys on the shots he faces which fills me with confidence?
Please don't think im fully slating Cesar, I think he's a top goalie, but I'd play Green over himLast edited by qpr; 03-04-2013, 05:35 PM.Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million

Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free

Well said!! If we had put a bit more faith in Green we wouldnt have needed Cesar" at all.Originally posted by Magic View PostShaky start, good in the middle, shaky end.
He's 'saved us' no more than he's cost us, if anything I'd say he'd done the latter more often. Get rid.QPR

I totally agree. We're fortunate to have 2 very good keepers, but in truth, a club like ours should only have one.Originally posted by 3London View PostUnbelievable ! some of the Posts on this thread! Hughes was an idiot for signing both Cesar and Green. He should have made getting a decent centre-back his number one priority last summer.
If we go down i'm sure Cesar will go. It'd be in the best interest of the club and the player. We will need to slash our wage bill dramatically and i'm sure Cesar will want to continue playing at the top level so he can keep his place in the Brazil squad for the 2014 World Cup.

I remember when some people on here wanted Green out after Swansea thrashed us 5-0 at the start of the season. I also remember most people on here slating him when he made that terrible mistake against West Brom.

No not rubbish...My point is why fans instantly #### a player off the minute he has a dip in form. its happened to remy..samba..cesar..diakite..mbia..zamora..swp..ho ilett..hill..boswinga..tarrabt..mackie..green..the list is endless. or consistent.Originally posted by qpr View PostRubbish. Cesar is not beyond critisicm and has made some errors in games and as a goalie they are always going to cost you. but over a career green has made just as many. i am not forgetting mistakes made by cesar in the same way i havent forgotten swansea or west brom at home with green either. being punished for your mistakes are part of being a goalkeeper.
and the mercenary tag is sooo boring now. In any walk of life if someone offers you alot of money to do your job each and everyone on here would take it.
And for the record i would have been happy to have kept green even after the

Every keeper makes mistakes, and the defence Cesar jas had in front of him means he gets tested WAY MORE than most keepers in the league.
He's arguably the best shot stopper in the league, granted he could hold on to the ball more, but I'd still take him over every keeper in the league with the exception of De Gea, Lloris & maybe Begovic/Cech. IF he played for a top team he'd look amazing
He won't want to play in the championship for the season leading up to his last world cup in his homeland. Can see him going back to Brazil to get game time

These newspaper stories annoy me as they are simply stating the bleedin obvious.
Why would a bloke who won it all for Inter and is keeper for the host nation in a world cup year be spending his prep including the highlight of playing Derby.
No player of any international or national quality is in a team outside the prem, why would Cesar want to be the exception.
All our high profile players that still consider themselves as having a credible career will leave if we go down.
We have taken a gamble to stay up, we say red, if it turns out to be black then fine we rebuild, no bitterness on players like Samba, Remy or Cesar who at least made an effort IMHO.Last edited by TBLOCKRANGER; 03-04-2013, 08:21 PM.
