If Green had let in those 3 goals he would have been destroyed on here. I believe if Green had been in goal we would have won the game. Harsh? I don't think so because the first goal highlighted one of Cesar's weaknesses - lack of aerial command. Green would have come and caught/punched/fumbled the cross and in any of those scenarios Villa would not have scored. The second goal was, in part, down to Cesar being less than 100% fit. He would normally save that without trouble and I believe Green would have saved it. The third goal was again, in part, down to Cesar. Had Green been in the nets we wouldn't have conceded the first 2 and Villa would have been dead and buried. Add to that Cesar's kicking due to fitness and compare it to the distance Green gets = Green in goal would have got all 3 points.

It's not that I don't rate Cesar, but at the moment his fitness is way down and Green deals with balls in the box better.

      Top summary that.

Exactly as you say, both good keepers with excellent shot stopping abilities with their own flaws to their games, but given current circumstances I would go with Green. I think judging by Arrys comments after the game, he agrees too and I expect to see Green between the sticks vs Foolham.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Don't know about you Matty but just watching him throughout the game I thought Cesar's body language said even he knew he was not fit enough to play.

100% that Green plays against Fulham.

Which is all true mate but also how about Cesar at Swansea & Villa? Just as bad IMO. Hense my comment about them both being top shot stoppers but having other flaws to their games.

Totally agree. Looked like he didn't wanna be there to me, don't know whether it was lack of interest of fitness or a combination of both. Either way it didn't bode too well!

                  10/10 shot stopper. 8/10 keeper.

think most have hit the nail on the head - Cesar did not look fit enough and any position is tough with a hip injury, never mind the goalie. No doubt Green would have played if fit. Harry took a gamble on a half fit Cesar over a rookie Murphy for a relegation 6 pointer although Murphy must be up to it if he was selected in the 25 man squad over Cerny.

He'll make the odd mistake- sometimes a WBA style howler- but he's consistently solid. Pretty sure Harry would've played him yesterday had he not been sick. Think he'll stick around in the championship, so I'd play him the next eight games to win his trust.
"Displays like yesterday". He got injured two weeks agao and missed last week's game. Perhaps he wasn't fully fit, but had to play given that Green was out with a virus. This would explain his lack of movement and agility.
He has had a number of outstanding games for QPR, although he has also made errors. But I would say that overall he has made less major errors in games than Green if you calculate mins on the pitch.

The problem with the Cesar dip in form is that IF we do drop then im sure we will cash in on him, will his value have dropped compared to a couple of months ago when he was outstanding?

Back then you would have said 9-12m easily.

No doubt Green (should he be prepared to stick around if we do drop) will be number one.

Brilliant shot stopper. Totally brilliant when fit. But worst than average in the air. You pay your money you take your choice....

For me agree with some others that aside from a storming January, including some fantastic saves, has looked wobbly and error prone with inconsistent distribution. I don't buy all this continental style nonsense. It's a goalie's job to clear the lines and too often he parries and puts us in trouble. If Green was ill and Cesar wasn't fit Murphy should have played.

Julio comes across great personality wise and some of his saves have been truly memorable and beyond simply being decent but we need consistency and Green has looked good overall and no I don't think just as a Championship goalie and is a step up from Paddy.

Well alot more critical of Cesar on here now than before...............there was a time he was a brazilian and ex inter keeper and that was enough for him to be awarded sainthood

Not only that Dave he was probably the best in the world at one point.

I think the car crash he was involved in meant he could no longer perform at the level he was use to although he still has his moments.
