Just wondered what people thought as this is apparently our new philosophy.

Depends what you are starting from and how big a change you want to make, also do the players buy into it. Can be quick or long.

I believe Spurs are going through the same thing since AVB left and still working on it.

We've been saying this for 5 years straight, our problems are embedded in the highest point of authority, Fernandes will continue to say "we've learned lessons" when we say this every year, we'll never progress with this style of Chairmanship.

I don't understand what a "footballing philosophy" is? I think we're just saying that so that the fans give the club time. Ours seem's to be getting younger players in than we had before. Not that difficult given that age of some of them. our style? Well we went long last year because a) we were worse than most at passing it on the ground and b) we had the "big fellas" up front. We've lost 1 of them and likely to lose the other. We therefore need to change our style of play slightly. We're just making the common sense decision to replace the older players who were out of contract with younger players in my view. Not a philosophy, just common sense.

Judging by the damage we have done to.ourselves financially, I'd say a few seasons.

Hasn't Les & CR been spending the summer getting players in that would suit the way he wants the team to play. So ...just sorta groping around in the dark here
....but won't these players have been playing similar roles at their previous clubs, thus giving us and them a head start on gelling?
