Is their anyone who is really bothered that Mackie has gone?
Read in paper and saw on Sky Sports News that most players have a clause in contract where if they are sold without asking to leave they have proportion of there contract paid up. If they ask to leave and put in transfer request they forgo any money owed to them hence why Barton has made it clear he wants out but stopped short of putting in a transfer request guessing Rooney is playing a similar game
