  • Benfica pull out of ceasar deal.

@Cynegeticus: Benfica ruled out the possibility of signing #QPR goalie Júlio César, as they couldn't reach an agreement over his wages, says 'A Bola'.

Tbh I think around 70k a week is about right for a Brazilian no1 goalkeeper.

I think his wage is justified, but time is running out.

I didn't mean justified at our club (we are in the Championship after all).

I meant that if Cesar was picked up by a big club, those wages may be justified, but the chance of that happening is diminishing as there is not a lot of time left before the transfer window closes.

That's like the 4th club to say no to his wages. Why players won't take paycuts I don't understand
            Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
            And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

The sad reality is that for most players the money matters more than the game. Perhaps after a few years with some more stashed away in his bank account Cesar will feel differently.

Biggest mercenary we've got! I hope someone signs him obviously because we need him off the books but if he does stay, let him rot and ruin his world cup dream.

Obvious he wants to stay and collect his wedge. Signing him was probably the dumbest piece of business carried out by the current regime, and that's saying something.

We're gonna end up paying this t**ts wages anyway, so just dump him in the reserves, let's see how his wc prospects go with little game time

Got him on a free so give him away on a free if it gets him of the payroll as in the long term it will be more of a saving

If he stays hope he misses out on the WC due to lack of game time

I honestly don't think he cares, its all about mounting up those millions at all costs. The fact that he's turned down Arsenal, Benfica, Napoli etc cos they are not willing to pay him what he wants, just illustrates this.

Agree . Can't believe he hasn't gone . I reakon scolari has garunteed his place for the World Cup and for that reason he's happy kicking his heels here . Not much we can do if he won't move though , will just have to hope someone comes in who can match his astronomical wage demands

If that's the case lets hope hes selected and flaps and they don't get out the group stages in their home WC

I would however been amazed if you could select a keeper who has not played for 9months other then international friendlies.

Wonder if he will get a run out against Swindon???
