Have'nt heard enough of Jay's name, dissapointed but then Birmingham won this last year and look where theu are now. Prem is more important.

I do agree with you that's it's a good chance for back up players but while the team has the likes of Taarabt & Bothroyd in it that's already too much of a risk for me.
Rather Adel and Jay did not play, but surely a chance for someone like Dave to try and prove a point for example?.

Man U's and Arsenal's kids jumped at the chance to play in this competition.

If our back up is rubbish in this competition let's just hope we don't need any of them this season.

Just once it would be nice if we put up a bit of a show in a cup. I'm not criticising Neil for resting certian players but I am criticising those who he picked for not being able to beat Rochdale at home. The youngsters aside there couldn't have been a player in blue and white who isn't earning less than about 7/ 10 grand a week. Many, like Rowlands and Cook, haven't been asked to kick a ball for the first team in a competitive match for about six months or a year and still they couldn't raise their games. Either they are finished or they didn't try. To my mind if Neil feels any of his fringe players didn't put in a shift for him they should be escorted off the ground after the match and asked never to appear again. I was about to go this evening but decided against it at the last minute - because I knew this would be the story. Am so glad I didn't now. Really, there should be some system in place that allows clubs to refuse to pay players when they perform like this. Sorry to sound like a fascist but I really feel for those fans who did turn up on a rainy night against Rochdale and this is how they are rewarded for their loyalty. The players who just went through the motions showed a complete lack of respect for those who pay their very considerable wages. Anyway, apologies for ranting and as a wiser head said this will all be forgotten in the morning. Promising to say no more on the subject and I hope to be there in Wigan cheering on a very different performance.

I'm waiting to hear back from those who went to let us know if the players on the pitch did actually try, it didn't sound like it until the very end.

At least NW wants to do well in the FA Cup, so that should be good.

Certainly according to the commentary it sounded as if we were largely going through the motions. I can understand with some of the regulars but for a lot of them this was their chance to shine.
