I didn't see the game, but from the comments its was a usual away performance. Its very frustrating that we can be on the front foot at home and just close up shop away. With one game a week at the moment we should be going for it no matter where we're playing.

I know we're away from home but the manager is wrong to keep leaving our most natural goal scorer out whilst we have many attacking players injured .I like Julian but take those armbands off whilst having a bath because giving him 12mins is ridiculous to say the least. I think he has a right to have a bit of attitude currently.I played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

There's a lot of ragging on Koki and Paul Smyth at the moment and while it's true that neither is playing well at the moment both have, in the past, had their moments for us, so it's not at all that they're incapable. Arguably, Paul Smyth is at a level between Championship and L1 but he's not utterly out of his depth at this level and Koki is very similar in that respect, whilst accepting that he certainly has an aura of fragility about him - something he has shown he is capable of riding out in the not too recent past. Given this, why are both being played consistently out of their chosen position? Given their weaknesses why would you want to then expose them to another challenge? If there's a well thought out plan there then fair enough, but can anyone see what that plan is? Is it working? How is playing them in this way helping them or the team? Yes, modern footballers are expected to be flexible but not when one person is filling another person's position and both are then flailing.

Been going on for months. The last away win was a dour awful 1-0 win at Ewood in November.Originally posted by SheepRanger View PostI didn't see the game, but from the comments its was a usual away performance. What gets my goat is JS seemingly being quite happy with boring us to death and picking up single points at the division's strugglers. I don't think drawing at Pompey, WBA, Oxford and Charlton is anything to crow about at all - particularly when we go to these places seemingly not interested in actually trying to win by getting on the front foot.

Exactly this. We need to get on the front foot and play to win away , this division is so poor , including us but the games you mentioned plus Norwich away are easily winnable , if we lose by trying to win so be it. Would rather this than the negative crap that Stephan is serving up away from home.

Deep crosses aren’t the only option for a winger playing in their preferred position, however, especially if cutting in from the opposite flank isn’t working for whatever reason. Finding the answer requires a flexible and skilled manager with more than two game plans, a species which seems to be a dying breed, or one being strangled to death by the coaching obsession.Originally posted by SheepRanger View PostPutting in deep crosses from wide is just daft with the quality of CBs these days, so wingers play on their opposite side to cut in on their stronger foot .and feed balls centrally. If they're rubbish at that too then your ####ed
