Despite having tickets for match and train I'm severely wobbling about going.. I can't recall last game of ours I actually enjoyed.
Our away records is better than at home but after witnessing how limp we were at Derby I have zero confidence in these pansies standing up to Wilder's thugball approach and fear it'll be another game where we get steamrollered by ordinary and limited opponents.
The good run/bad run/good run scenario that we have gotten used to cannot be relied upon. The Southampton game was an eye opener to me. They were really poor but beat us. Surely running a football team is not as difficult as successive management teams have made it look.
1) If Steve Bould is responsible for our defence, sack him.
2) Replace Jimmy as captain. Maybe try Hayden.
3) Stop tinkering so much.
4) Insist the team start with high energy. If they don't, substitute someone after about 15 minutes as an example to all the others. THIS IS A BIG ONE.
5) Do not play Dembele. He needs to wise up
6) Practice crossing/corners - hopeless the other evening.
7) Do not play Chair in the middle up front. Too small.
8) Work out where our "brain" is on the pitch. 36 hopeless crosses the other evening. Why didn't someone stop it?
9) Make a firm decision about JCS.
10) STOP all that messing about at the back. Theoretical nonsense contributing nothing. We don't have the players to do this effectively.
11) Stop resting players unnecessarily.
12) Stick with Nardi. He's OK. Don't overlook what's just in front of him. I'd forgive him for being a nervous wreck.
Loads of other stuff but I don't want to bore you.
Like Southampton, they've massively underperformed thus far. So, typical bit of QPR charity to go there and roll over and allow them to jump-start their campaign. Our poxy midfield up against Callum O'Hare and Gus Hamer... what could possibly go wrong????
I hope they play Chong too - putting 25p on him being booked is virtually free money, paricularly with tricky wriggly players like Chair and Saito out there.
Will be fascinating to see our line-up, formation and tactics. Wonder if he'll be tempted to do a park the bus type set-up?
