With midweek coming thick and fast now, Julien mentuoned after the game on Sat its now time to use the squad. I think Frey & Kolli will start.....and possibly Esquerdinha too.
Keep the same side , as long as they are fit , bring subs on to give some a rest after 60 mins , then make a few changes for Oxford at home. If you change Kone and Burrel for Frey and Kolli , it will severely weaken us.
Sort out Barry Bannan. He loves playing against us. He also played very well last weekend. If we are slightly off, he steps in and runs the show. We need to bully him out of his area of comfort. Very good player on his day.
After QPRDave's thread, Ive been doing some reading and it seems their supporters may start boycotting games to force the owner to sell by cutting off gate money. Also, on 30th Sept the owner has to pay back a £7m loan and the monthly wages for playing and non-playing staff are due. It's possible that they'll go into liquidation on that date and the players will then become free agents.
I know they beat Portsmouth last week, but with deadline day getting ever closer, how much more will the players give? Playing in front 8-10k at Hillsborough might get the players to think that if the supporters are bailing, why should we bother?
If we really get into them in the first 20 mins it could be a great opportunity to claw back the negative goal difference following the Coventry defeat. We need to go for the jugular!!
I agree and though we need to use the sqaud, i'd still feild our strongest 11 to keep this run of form up, especially strating, with a plan for early subs.
In the mast 3 seasons it's been these runs of 10 or so games where we've saved our seasons, as we've been abysmal when things are not going our way.
Would love to thrash them , I was there when we got promoted and they were ***** with me and my son who was 10 at the time and really scared , although if they do go under the result will be wiped off
Tickets offsale tomoz at noon, currently sold +1400. That strange forcefield somewhere around Nottingham has come into effect again... take 3000 to Derby but the extra hour or 60 miles further sees a 50% drop-off. Given we're on good form, weather's fine and most of all it's a Saturday 3pm thought we might take 2000+. Charlton took just under 2000 to blades last Saturday for perspective.
I'm worried they are on brink of meltdown and the off-field atmosphere might be weird and disruptive to us. Hopefully we will be professional and calmly take 3 points. Although I'd like to batter them I do wonder if that'd induce a pitch invasion or sit-in on the pitch, maybe a routine 2-goal margin of victory would be best outcome to ensure we see full 90mins play out.
Tbh this whole 2 nil to the rangers is understandably optimistic but it's very much a tougher game than most of you complacent fans expect. Barry bannans name has been ringing out and rightly so. He is a pretty basic workman like midfielder but we've always struggled against him. He must love playing against us it will feel like inesta has turned up, always does.
