Have you seen the WLS match report? They just about stop short of calling Celar a waste of space and the fact he got taken off for an 18 year old rookie midfielder says it all.Originally posted by Sleeping Giants View Post
I don't think it's fair to criticise Celar in a match that we were clearly going to defend for the vast majority of.
The guy just doesn't look interested. I've watched him closely and he does press the opposition but nowhere nearly enough. His hold up play is a joke. He has no first touch and he gets knocked off the ball far too easily. He's not small either. So it's an attitude thing for me. His stinks at the minute and hopefully Lloyd gets his opportunity against Sunderland.

So they take a keeper from London instead of a outplayer from London .... naa ! Could have taken 5 players from the kidsOriginally posted by LordLoftus View PostPer Marti, “In the end we had to use the extra keeper as a bench player because after we did the last (fitness) tests (of Dembele and Fox) it was impossible to get anyone from London here in time for the game.”

Yeah, hope for the best and plan for the worst. If those two needed late fitness tests you bring outfield players assuming both will fail the tests.Originally posted by LoftusRoadLad View Post

The balls up to Celar were dumb in the extreme - just mindless hoofs high into the air in his vague direction which were gleefully gobbled up by their tall CBs. Burnley didn't have an obvious striker but last 20 minutes they did try some long balls to a guy up front who was being marshalled by JCS. They played balls to his feet AND had runners around him so he would either win a foul from JCS's close attention or lay it off to the runners. Would love to see us supply Celar or Frey like that.Originally posted by Sleeping Giants View Post

I can't make much a case for Celar but neither can I slate him: he's feeding off scraps. Until I see him miss some sitters I'll stay neutral.

It's hard to judge some of our players. We don't attack properly or often enough. If we could get some real momentum going, then let's judge them. OK, so some of them have looked poor, but let's show more patience than we are. We are hardly a good side and these guys can't carry so much of the responsibility, particularly for our frustration with the team as a whole.

Good point defended well, for me Cookie an Nardi excellent. I get disappointed with Snyth has very little end product, and spends so much time being knocked over, weren’t much to see thought Ashby gave the ball away very cheaply too often. As for Celar not showing too much looks miles off the pace of the championship, and this is an international who played at the euros. Can’t really judge him too much on this game, the balls up to him were generally poor under hit and 2 CBs all over him, but it’s not looking like a good deal, thought siato looked ok tried to go forward when in possession, we got more than I expected so That good, let’s hope they can put in a very good performance next week and shock the league leaders
