Huge mistake taking those 2 off. They were their best players and giving our back 3 real problems. As soon as they went off, we got a foothold in the game. Was a bit disappointed with johanssen. First half he looked well off it in terms of fitness and getting in the right areas. Second half he played more in the opposition half and looked more threatening. Looks a bit overweight to me but given he's had no real pre season, games and training will do him good. Was seriously impressed with the back 3. Dykes was the difference in the end. A target man who gave them real problems for the last 25 mins.Comment

Ain't life a Bitch.Lost 1-0 missed a penalty in the last minute, hit the bar and post and totally dominated the whole game away from home , but we all know you don't always get what you deserve in football.
think qpr are a good team , like the manager, outside tip for top six. But we're a different proposition from last season.Comment

Well just got home, bit disappointed we couldn't get one or two in , in the first half , which we probably had the better of. We also had a couple of chances at the start of the second half.
but you did your work on o' hare and kept him quiet, so fair play on that , and the switch to two up front for you made a difference, keeping our wing backs pushed back to cover.
3 shots on target 2 went in . Think there wasn't much between the teams , bar , finishing.
Even tho you did us today, I think the point has been made, we won't be any bodies push overs . PUSBComment

You just got home!!, were you out on the pi ss or did you get lost?
Your team played well, but from our point of view, three excellent points.
I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.

I think if you read through the posts in this thread we were overall complimentary and giving you guys credit for a strong first half where you possibly could have been up a pair, football is a game of 2 halves and we came back into it and scored the crucial goals for the win! I hope you had a good day and you seem a reasonable poster, come back again for the reverse fixture, who knows where our sides will be at then?Well just got home, bit disappointed we couldn't get one or two in , in the first half , which we probably had the better of. Happy with that in the end. I thought it would be a close game and thats how it turned out.
we pass the ball around the back far too much at times and this allows the counter attacks, but thanks to Dieng and some great defending we held out until the substitution changed the game. Great finish from Dykes and so from Barbet.

Ultimately it is about the finishing tho isn't it? Left enough Rangers games over the years saying "if only that one had gone in off the post" or "how did we miss so many chances?" but the teams who succeed are the ones who are ruthless, like WBA scoring in the 93rd minute yesterday. Coventry are obvs much improved with some good players - I liked that lad slinging in the low corners - but whilst I make no boasts/ predictions on where we will finish, why we have done well so far is grinding out results, wearing teams down with our passing and scoring a lot of late goals. That's not luck IMHO.Comment

Agree. We let them do the running first half and on a couple of occaisions gave the ball away. Also Johanson and Chair wern't in the game as much early on. (perhaps Cov did their homework?). Professional display by the the team.Ultimately it is about the finishing tho isn't it? Slow start again to the game, got to stop that good teams will punish us, I thought Cov were ok didn't get the taking off the 2 players causing us most problems, game seem to be drifting a bit 2 up top big difference Dykes made alongside Charlie who is obviously unable to play on his own up front, looks a bit leggy tooComment
