QPR manager Mark Warburton has hinted we'll see some new faces in Sunday's FA Cup tie against Swansea City.

After a gruelling Christmas period, Warburton says it's imperative to use the squad and keep players fresh as we head into the back half of the season.

That really is going to depend on what kind of side they play, I like your lineup Lad, it will give a chance for some to get playing time and prove they belong, that doesn't usually go well though and I don't see many goals in this side!

Think they're playing Cardiff next week? I presume they will therefore be even more minded than we are to rest the 1st XI. I suppose it comes down to whether our reserves can beat their reserves.... I don't think BOS and Chair need a rest and if we play those two we should be able to edge the tie.

MARK Warburton admits he will be using his squad for Sunday’s FA Cup tie against Swansea City but is keen to point out that doesn’t demonstrate a lack of respect for the competition.

Focusing his attention on the visit of Swansea to Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, Warburton has confirmed he will be using his squad for what will be QPR’s fifth game in 15 days.

“There is no lack of respect for the world’s oldest competition but the fact is it’s coming on the back of a gruelling Christmas period and we have niggling injuries, as I am sure Swansea and everyone else does,” Warburton explained.

“We will have to use the squad, it’s as simple as that. After playing on 21st, 26th, 29th, 1st, it places such demands on the squad.

“The boys are ready and I have got no problem with who we use because they are all talented players.

“There will certainly be one or two faces who haven’t been seen but they are ready and training well.

“I don’t want this to be seen as a lack of respect for this fantastic competition. It’s not. It is purely the fact we then play Brentford, Leeds, and Blackburn, all tough games where we have to have the best team available.”

With Swansea beating Charlton on Thursday night to move into the top six ahead of their trip to Cardiff City next weekend, Warburton expects counterpart Steve Cooper to consider similar changes to his side.

“I know Steve very well,” said the QPR gaffer. “He has a very good footballing team and a very talented squad.

“I am sure Steve will have the same types of problems that all the other teams face – fatigue. It’s not necessarily a specific injury, it’s simply fatigue. I am sure he will look after his squad as we will do.

“We want to progress. We want to get into the fourth round, as does Steve and Swansea. We need a team to go out there, perform well for us in front of our fans and get the right result.”

Yoann Barbet remains out while Toni Leistner is a major doubt after coming off against Cardiff City with a calf injury.
