Rumor has it he was reading up on tactics, but we were 2-0 down before he got through the first chapter so gave up and came down to shout a bit!

Am I right in assuming Birch the brains was in charge today?

This is bang on. Simply cannot play that system away from home where teams will be on the attack from the off. Need a 4-5-1 to at least try and control the midfield away from home.

Doesn't matter how we set up if the defensive basics aren't there. They aren't being drilled properly. Getting units to work requires proper coaching - you sort the calls, you sort the cover, you practice zones and man to man and you do it again and again. If someone like Conti spends hours doing it with top class defenders every week, I'm not sure how we imagine we can get away with not bothering with our lot.

I agree defensively we’re fragile but how do you know we’re not spending hours and players are simply not up to it

because its a unit thing, about how the unit functions rather than individual quality. That's how come teams with limited ability can keep the door shut. Foundation of how Leicester became champions. It's worth reading up about Aresenal's invincibles, sure they were better defenders than us, but the played as a unit.
They knew the calls, they knew the lines, they covered ass.

Bit fuvcked off that ass is OK but yer good old fashioned English A R S E gets censored.

                          League 1 standard manager

League 1 standard players for the most part

                          Why are people surprised?

Think that might be because it also means donkey and other asses ;-)

Thought we defended as a complete side very well against Wolves and Sheffield United. Absolute proof that there is defensive coaching as everyone to a man knew what they had to do.

Why the surprise? Most of us thought Warburton was a good manager at Brentford.
