Very sad news. Dave Sexton was a true visionary in football management and (2nd only to my Dad) was the inspiration for my life of football frustration with Rangers.
      RIP

An excellent manager and student of the game.Always came across as a nice bloke.
We should do more to honour our past players and managers as this would enrich our young supporters with the club history and the love we had for these individuals. Who knows maybe this would rub off on the current squad.

Poignant that the day one of our greatest (if not greatest) managers passes on is the day our new manager takes over...

Football Association director of football development, Sir Trevor Brooking:

"It is a sad day for English football. Anyone who was ever coached by Dave would be able to tell you what a good man he was, but not only that, what a great coach in particular he was. In the last 30-40 years Dave's name was up there with any of the top coaches we have produced in England - the likes of Terry Venables, Don Howe and Ron Greenwood. His coaching was revered."

Former Chelsea, Manchester United, QPR, Leyton Orient and England Under-21 manager Dave Sexton dies, aged 82.

I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

I had the honour of briefly chatting with Dave when I was a kid. A true gentleman and without a doubt Rangers best ever manager. I'm welling up here.
