Varane in the first half was superb. His switch off for the luton goal was his only mistake.

I thought Edwards looked a quality player. Luton didn't really press us and made it fairly easy for us to play out from the back. Despite this we were still a bit slow at it (Paal glaringly passing to a Luton player in 1st half). But I noticed Edwards really fizzed his passes to feet - very quick and accurate distribution.
In terms of subs, I think Smyth's cut eye threw a spanner in the works - I feel sure Saito was about to replace the labouring Chair who's lack of a preseason and missed games means hes still finding his rhythm.
Another entertaining and enjoyable home game, they're becoming our trademark.

Marti said in the post match interview that he wanted to bring Edwards on for his debut but didn't want him in his natural position. He want to ease into that critical position. But he added he has played defensive midfield before,so it seems he's got some flexibility with him even though CB is his main positionOriginally posted by topperharley View PostI thought it was odd when Marti chose to bring Edwards on, he replaced Varane, who needed off the pitch but Colback would hav been the natural replacement there surely?
Did we rate his performance? I thought he looked strong and decisive but nothing really stood out? First game so can't expect too much, but figured we'd see him about the same time we saw JCS, late on.
Saito was great on the offensive but really poor defensively, watch him in the build up to Adebayo chance, spent the entire build up pointing at where tohers should run while keeping pace with his man at cool distance of 10m the whole time. Love his work rate but us he just a bit to light?

Add in Morgan in midfield Dembele to come back Colback full fitness. No more Madson or Varane. We will be in with a mathematical shout of playoffs by Easter, which is probably as much as we could ask.
loving it

Alfie Lloyd brought an energy and enthusiasm to this game that was out of this world. He literally won every ball he went for and with better finishing would have had 2 goals within 5 minutes of coming on. I believe we have the start of something very exciting happening at QPR seeing Lloyd, Smith, Chair, Saito, Kolli in the attacking half

Exactly as l saw it Bus. Frey might have made a better job of lloyds missed chances. But spot on about chair and Luton set pieces. Really enjoyed the game and atmosphere in the ground. We are looking a half decent side which is brilliant after previous seasons. Not getting carried away but credit where it’s due Massive improvement!!!Originally posted by 72bus View PostA deserved win , we had rakes of chances and should of 2 or 3 up in the first half.
Luton were really poor but dangerous on set pieces .
Chair was off it again tonight , beating his man then checking back before passing it back .
He needs to be direct and get the ball into the oppositions box early.

Will Lloyd's performance be viewed as positive to stop another striker joining in Jan? Or, despite his hard work and getting on those positions he fluffed his lines? If the Board have aspirations of getting into the top 6 then I can see another striker coming in very soon.

Chances wise we battered Luton, could have scored 6 with the chances we had, I bet Luton couldn’t believe their luck going in level at H/T.
Second half we missed chance after chance, young Lloyd should have had 2 in 5 minutes, his 20 odd minute cameo caused chaos in their defence, not sure anyone knows what he will do next.
Everyone gave their all but I thought Morgan again had a superb game.
Ref was interesting tonight, didn’t really understand what a foul is .and let players get away with murderTags: None
