    Taking off Townsend yesterday

Why oh why did Harry leave Mackie on the pitch and take Townend off? Got to be one of the most baffling changes ever made.

    Haven't a clue, mate.
Neither does Harry, by the looks of it.

Mackie is a shocking footballer. All he offers is work rate and that aint enough is this league.

Just shows the state of our squad when a Spurs reserve player looks the best we got.

I dont think its that we have poor players, more that they look both under-motivated and shot of confidence.

It must be that Mackie has it in his contract that he must play every week. How he plays every week I will never know? Has no quality. He obviously does something to all our managers that we don't know about! Townsend should have stayed on yesterday.

no point singling out mackie we are bottom because we are the worst team in the PL , what mackie does is shows week in week out that he cares. townsend was our best player y'day at least he can beat a player but like traore and taarbt his end product was poor

mother theresa cared but would you have played her up front. he just wafts about, ten yards behind the pace. two classic "jamie" moments yesterday: one, his trademark running the ball out of play, two was when adel passed to him and he is so gormless he didn't read it and just stood there, looking at it go out. mid-table championship player at best.

Mackie might as well have not played with the amount of impact he had on the game.

When was he taken off? If it was when we were 0-2 down I think the answer would have been to ensure he didn't get injured for games we have a chance of winning
