YEah. After the Mvilla farce there was rumour of Capoue or Sissoko interest from us. I looked them up at the time and you could see from clips he looked a beast and i said he looked far the better option.

He'll do well for them, and it looked like PArdew played him quite advanced like City do with Toure sometimes. suited him. Well he got 2 goals on home debut for them (and 1 assist at Villa with a great through ball) but he only scored 2 in last 38 in France... certainly a bargain though.

Excellent value for money. This is why we failed in some respects and teams like Norwich and Swansea did very well, pay sensible money for quality and for a player you can sell and make money on.

Agreed, but surely in order to bring in these players we need a scouting network, and some forward planning, not just wait till the window opens and see who we can persuade ?

Newcastle can buy strikers, always have.

Apparently we enquired about him after the M'Vila failure, but he preferred Newcastle and who can blame him. What gets me is the way the Geordies whinged about us getting Remy, as if we had no right to sign a player they wanted.

Today is the first time I miss Joey, tbh. Should have him instead of Derry or Mbia. Gives much more strength upwards.

If we had signed him I guarantee half the people on here would be complaining and questioning why we signed someone with such a low strike rate for Toulouse......

He usually adopts an attacking role though I think? Either way we'd have found something to complain about

Yeah Sissoko looks a real player and was the one after M'vila that Redknapp wanted the most from the reports. Then when they fell thru Capoue & Diame were targets and Livermore was always expected.
Goals from midfield like Sissoko provides would have added so much to the team and even a solid DM might have released some more attacking players. But none arrived.

What a player? I take it you watched full 90 mins, or did u watch his highlights on MOTD?? One good game doesn't mean he will be excellent, even Agyemang had good games!
