Yes but we are three down and look a poor side again after the last three positive performances. Sure there will be several on here defending him after that goal but see the whole picture, slows everything down allowing Fulham to squeeze us thus giving no space to play in. Also takes up the space of others by continually coming short.

Because we're a poorer team when he's given a free role to meander about aimlessly all across the middle playing way, way too deep and slowing everything up. We were a better team when he went left wing and then went off. Story of our wretched season.

Other than maybe Mbia (who was superb), who contributed more to us as a side tonight than Tarbs though? 1 goal and winning a penalty? Just saying....

It's the team, Matty. We play better as a team without him. I wish we didn't but we do. We abandoned 442 to accommodate him and were sh1t. Shifted to 442 second half, made use of Remy and Townsend, put Taarabt on the left where the only thing he did was win the penalty, and made a game of it. Wish we'd played 442 from the get go. His goal was great, sure, but I sadly think we ought have stuck to the winning formula that saw us beat Soton and Sunderland and nearly beat Villa. Adel's inability to defend means we don't benefit from the extra man in the middle. And we waste Remy out on the right when we let Adel roam free. I agree that Mbia had his best game for us tonight.

Are we back on this again , shouldn't have started last night H.R should have stuck with the the same team played at Villa he did scre a good gaol but once again gave the ball away too cheaply when attacking but our defending was woeful again and you can't blame Adel for that,

U can't blame him for anything defensively like how bad it was at Fulham cause he couldn't tackle to save his life but he slows the play down too much this is y couldn't play him in central midfield cause he's too much of a passenger .On the attack he holds on to the ball too long and by this time the chance to put someone in is gone. As we can't play CM or isn't efficient in an attacking role who knows where he can really play without having a negative effect on the team.If he was scoring every week and playing well every week then fair play to him but he is also extremely inconsistent.

regardless of people's opinions on this subject, what bothers me is that the apparent manageriel "genius" that is HR, always seems to mess about with the team when it doesn't need messing with, be it formation or selection. He has inexplicably dropped players at different times for no reason when they've been performing well in matches for him (Fabio, SWP, Bothroyd, Hoilett, Park to name a few).

He does some very strange things and as I've always said since his Spurs days if plan A doesnt work, he very rarely changes anything during the game and is always it seems looking for one of him many coaching staff for answers.

Harry is the problem, ok the championship is poor but Warnock knew how to get the best out of him, whereas harry is clueless like he was at spurs
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

scored a great goal and won the penalty. What did Zamora contribute all match? And what did Hoilet offer when he came on in place of Adel (did he even touch the ball more than about twice)? You might argue Adel shouldn't have started but I do wonder why he was taken off. We were looking for a miracle second half and he was the only one likely to provide it. Fulham steadied the ship once Adel went off and we lost a bit of momentum and certainly lacked ideas.

Do find it funny that even when our centre halves are responsible for gifting the opposition three goals and putting in one of the most inept, comical defensive displays I can remember (and I include entire matches watching Titus Bramble) it does make me laugh that Adel is still the catch-all scapegoat. One m*ron near me even kept going on about how he was a "blo*dy foreigner". Just embarrassing but hey ho...

It's not Adel. It's the formation we play to play him. 442 worked second half but 4231 first half didn't. But it means Adel on the wing, not in a free role. Can't see why people can't see that.

Fair comment up to a point. You are arguing about the formation but plenty of others just snatch every opportunity to attack the player who, head and shoulders above anyone else, got us into the Prem in the first place.

Formation didn't work as it left Mbia to hold the entire midfield together (Jenas was quiet). Remy completely lost right side of midfield in the first half. But even if Adel had played on the wing and Remy up top we would have been just as exposed in central midfield. In retrospect he should have left out Zamora who might as well not have been there, played Remy up top on his own and bolstered the midfield with Derry/Park. But then fans might have turned round and said "how cd you leave out Zamora, it all went wrong at Villa when he went off." If management was easy we wd still have Mark Hughes. Think Harry essentially thought "its s*it or bust, if we don't win we are down so we might as well throw the kitchen sink at it." It didn't work primarily because Samba and Hill were a complete joke. If they hadn't been so utterly useless we would probably all be saying that Harry pulled off a masterstroke because we would have won two or three nil. We certainly wouldn't be starting yet another thread about Adel.
