Even if he left tomorrow Adel should be considered a QPR great. I've been going to LR for 18 years and he is far and away the best and most entertaining player we've had in that time. Played a huge part in our promotion year, great wins vs Chelsea etc, and countless random moments of skill that make you feel like an excitable kid in the playground. He's played 140odd games for us now, so he's been around a while (Gallen played 260 or so)

If you're going to judge him by the standards of Ronaldo or RVP then yes, obviously he isn't a "great". But then, who is? Surely no Rangers player, ever.

Bit pointless if we can't even say Alan McDonald was a legend as he was no Franco Baresi. Gerry Francis? Wasn't a patch on Platini. And Stan Bowles never had the consistency of Cruyff. But so what...

Marshy, I notice the Adel haters always say you love him etc, but don't go making threads like this to prove your point mate that you can also criticise him.
I have no point to make, I do not believe in hero-worship, and I have never hero-worshipped Tarbs, in fact, you will find me criticising him in my old posts (which the Tarbs haters tend to ignore). I just don't like Tarbs being made a scapegoat for things that are not his fault.

Back to the original point, it was a good save, but RVP, Messi, Ronaldo, these guys would have buried it. Tarbs also missed a sitter against Villa (I think). And some of his shooting is totally wayward. And it is small things like these that can be the difference between staying up and going down.

It was a top class save.

Adel is a top drawer player. The way he caned 3 international defenders in the second half, nutmegging 2 of them could only be repeated by a couple of players currently plying their trade in La Liga.

Would only add that if he improves his shooting accuracy then he will be one of the top 5 attacking players in the Premiership.

He left the champions defence in his wake & made the England #1 pull of a great save; put him in a team with other World class players & you would see a true great in the making.

I may be being biast here, but I already think he is. I personally wouldn't swap him for many players in his position. I rather him then any of the Chelsea 3 Mata, Hazard, Oscar. David Silva is brilliant, but I thought Adel upstaged him yesterday. I can't think of many others, Ben Arfa is brilliant, and Carzola at Arsenal. But on current form I wouldn't have any of them over Adel....Am I mad?

I think Adel is far better than what I have seen of Oscar, Mata is a slightly different player in that he drifts around a lot more, but if I was to be honest, Hazard is just a different class above Tarbs. I agree with David Silva and Ben Arfa, both totally brilliant players, and both players who I believe are better than Tarbs.

I still don't see why this is a relevant point. So Adel isn't as good as Messi, we all know that. But he's a good deal closer to Messi than pretty much any of our other players are to the best in the world in their position (Cesar would be the one exception).

We don't compare Jamie Mackie to Gareth Bale because that would be so ridiculous no one even thinks of saying it. Tiago Silva doesn't get turned as easily as Clint Hill, but I wouldn't use that as a stick to beat Hill with. I'd take Busquets over Derry too, btw.

The fact we're even discussing this comparison shows what an exceptional player Adel is. How many bottom of the table sides have a player that gets compared against Ronaldo, RVP and Messi?

Taarabt is class, everybody knows that. And I have no doubts that he would look even better in a top side; haing the best players around him making runs and reading his passes. Just take Ji Sung Park for a prime example of how much better a player looks with better players around him.

Imagine Tarbs in Arsenal's side? He would be absolute class. He is slowly improving his all round game aswell, he is no longer a "luxury" player that goes missing for long periods, he grafts in and wins tackles & tracks back.

By far & away the best QPR player in my memory (bearing in mind I just missed Sir Les).

I wouldn't begrudge him one bit if an offer came in in the summer for him from a "big club" and he wanted to move to try and further himself.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Worst thread of 2013 so far

Maybe you should remind yourself he usually plays in midfield and aint a striker

People reaching for any negative comment to put Taarabt down, reeks desperation

I agree with everything you say. I just find it frustrating that these chances should be going in, because come May, it will be a point or two that decides whether or not we go down.
