I follow Spanish football and this new manager of theirs is actually pretty good. Won manager of the year in 2011 above Mourinho etc. a lot of people rate him as a very good manager. And one of the reasons he came is because of promised financial backing.

Incredibley harsh on Adkins IMO - took em from 22nd in League 1 (I think) to 15th in the PL and he gets the bullet after a 2 all draw at Stamford Bridge. Not sure where there owners feel they deserve to be in the league but, IMO, 15th is as good as they can hope for in their first season.

Yes mate but bad financial trouble at the club and selling players that he wanted to keep. On talksport there bigging him up and so is that Spanish sky reporter. Saints fans reckon they've gt Coutinho aswell who played under him at Espanyol, very good young talent.

I think the news is good for any of the teams who are battling against relegation. Pochettino doesn't speak much English, he doesn't have that long to get new players in and the Southampton fans are no doubt going to want to vent their frustrations at the board, which might affect the team. I feel sorry for Adkins. Over the past few weeks I thought Southampton would stay up but I'm not sure they will now
