So what? Neither would Messi or Ronaldo but i am sure you would recognise that ability and importance to a team would come before how much passion someone shows?! Not saying Hangeland is in their class but he would be our best centre back by a mile and would start every game. We are crying out for a decent centre back.

It is not all about passion and effort. Cisse does a third of Mackie's effort and passion. But if you had to pick one of them to put away chances you would play Cisse all day long.

The reason for the question is that there have been reports that Fulham were interested in Mackie and QPR interested in Hangeland. So I'm interested to see what other posters opinions on the swap scenario.

He said the same about Nelsen and Hill but both are widely tipped to leave. They are good hard working players who has done well. If they go why not Mackie too?

well if its all hypothetical then i would get rid of Hoilett,Park,Swp,Diakite and Mbia in midfield before i got rid of Jamie Mackie.
