When he was on loan at 'wall (as a 17 year old) he was played out wide
From the Arsenal web site
The forward’s lightning pace and burgeoning power make him a handful for defenders at any level and his experience as a wide man at Millwall has bought an added dimension to his forward play.Comment

I agree that he isnt playing the best - but then again, who is? Helguson is poor, and has missed loads and loads of chances - HE should be the one being sent out on loan, and Vine should be given a chance at starting. Vine will get going once he gets a goal - whereas Helgusson has proved time and time again that he cannot finish, and i dont see how much longer we are suppose to wait for him to do his job.Dando, it's not even close to a fair comparisson. Vine is unfit and unlike Connolly, Buzz, Routledge and Cerny, Rowan is not performing even at half his capacity.
This loan will be good for both parties. If it's explained to him that he is very much part of the future but not playing well enough to get the games he needs, i'm sure he'll agree to the loan with no bad blood.Comment

Mate, I agree with regards to the picking line, but as I said before...who would want Heider or Aggy?I agree that he isnt playing the best - but then again, who is? With Vine, it acctually benefits us as he'll either come back sharper or just the same...either way, we'll have some idea on whether or not he'll get back to his best.Your mum would love me...Comment

If we can loan a few out, this may not be the last striker in

Shame about vine, but he does need games!!...Simpson sounds good so id be happy to have him....
In a ideal world vine will come back fitter and better than ever, a loan might suit him.Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...Comment

i agree, but my concern is that a lot of players who get loaned out, tend to stay there. Im confident he will get his form back, but he wont unless hes starting the games.Mate, I agree with regards to the picking line, but as I said before...who would want Heider or Aggy?

but how long can a player under perform and the team have to carry him.....from what somebody said the reserve games are not til late september so makes sense going out on loan.Comment

Dream on.
He's not wanted, or he want out.
Can't believe people are swallowing this.
There must be 1001 threads about QPR needing a forward, so we loan out the only good one we have? Genius.
If he needs minutes on the pitch, then how about starting with 90 minutes against Accrington Stanley?
There's a crazy idea.Comment

What's the big problem with loaning Vine out to get match fit and his sharpness back? The article states there's no consideration to cash in, so it simply is for him to get fit, which he can't do with us if not currently sharp enough to force his way into our team...vicious cirlce.
Loan him out, get him buzzing again and then bring him back to potentially walk straight into our side.
nothing wrong with that at all.Comment

That's the thing...he won't start many for us on current form.
If we get Simpson in and hopefully another...there is no need for Vine to be here for the short term. How good will it be to loan him out and get him back to sharpness as it would be like a new signing once he returns.Your mum would love me...Comment

Great player that he is, he's never been prolific and is far more creative as he showed with his link up play with Dave the season before last.... Vine was superb, but Dave scored more goals.Dream on.
