I still think he is a top player and needs to play a bit further forward so he can dictate play. The annoying thing is I reckon if we sold him to a club of a similar status to us such as Swansea, Norwich or Fulham he would look an outstanding player in their sides as they have that confidence in the team which we are lacking at the moment.

He was great against Man City and Spurs so there is clearly a player in him. Perhaps not the messiah we thought he first was but certainly not as bad as some now believe. As usual the truth is somewhere in the middle

This. So true. Look at Swansea's movement, its excellent. In the summer they signed that Korean guy (Ki?) from Celtic. I think we were after him too, not sure if we chose Granero over him or he chose Swansea over us or what. But just look at what Ki has to work with compared to Granero - a hard-working team, loads of runners to pass to, a coherent attacking strategy. We have had none of those.

I suspect if we had signed Ki, people on here would right now be banging on about how he was lazy, slow, easily dispossessed, not up for the fight etc etc. And everyone would be raving about that Granero kid at Swansea....

Like that pass over the top to Cisse against Wigan? Who else in our team could play a pass like that? Or his pass to SWP against Villa? Think him and Faurlin looked great together. That's what I'm getting at. They'd be great with MBia backing them up, sweeping up the space they leave behind them.
