This is a guy who has never managed anywhere north of Tottenham, as he refuses to leave his home on the south coast. He'd probably pay Ģ6m not to live in Kiev.Originally posted by silvercue View PostOf course he is considering Ukraine - if he ruled himeslf out Tony would offer him far less money. 6m a year would be one of the highest ever salaries in football management history. And considering the indredibly low level of income tax he would pay would effectively mean they are prepared to make him one of the highest "netto" paid ever.
He did the exact same cucktease with Newcastle in 2008 as he's doing with Ukraine now.

I don't think you get it Geng. While he is "seriously considering" a Ģ6m offer fronm Ukrain where he will only have to pay 15% tax it means that he is forcing TFs hand to offer a far greater salary than he would otherwise.
Basically Ukraine know he would not move unless the offer was big, so they are preparred to make him one of the best paid managers in the world ever. Harry has said he is interested. If he isn't going to end up in Ukraine that means only one thing - he is saying he is interested to bleed more money out of QPR. He is playing a game and has all the cards in his hand.

Yes of course, I know that! QPR is ideal for him - rich, PL club within commuting distance of home.
I'm mainly pointing out that he's unlikely to go to Ukraine for the benefit of the excitable posters on here who seem to think we should be snapping him up asap before he leaves for Kiev...

Agree with all that, except to be fair, why would he quit and forego a huge pay off...if he is to go he wants to go with the best possible deal for himself....that means playing hardball and hanging on for a payoff ..cant knock him for that. Think we'd all be the same wouldnt we?Originally posted by Rebel R's View PostDoesn't matter who we will, under Hughes we will lose, but his huge contract is the problem and this arrogant Baffoon won't quit

i was chatting about all of this with a mate earlier, something really has to be done vis-a-vis mangers contracts it often feels like the club is held to ransom by managers. Club always appear to be the ones who have to homour a contract whereas it seems fine for a manager walk out on his current job for a better one. It seems very rare these days that managers do the honourable thing and resign when theyve been awful at their job.

That is down to the clubs. They can choose to be stronger. In fact most contracts are stronger now - it is a myth that the value of the contract has to be paid up. It is all about a compromise agreement based on performance target failure. Same as where I work.Originally posted by willis1980 View Posti was chatting about all of this with a mate earlier, something really has to be done vis-a-vis mangers contracts it often feels like the club is held to ransom by managers. Let's be fair. If you are going to offer silly money to a manager to improve your team, then surely any sane employer would ensure that there are performance measures in place to protect themselves. Unless of course you are either desperate or stupid.

Agreed. I actually think if HR has already been contacted it could be his choice that nothing has happened yet. I mean what manager would want their first game away at OT when your still looking for a first win? No new manager is going to want to come in to a more or less nailed on defeat first game are they? Their record would have a stain on it before they've started.Originally posted by BUSHRANGER1982 View PostPerhaps, I'm clutching at straws here, but maybe, just maybe, nobody wants Harry's first game in charge to be a hammering at ManUre, even Sunderland seems like too much of a challenge for our bunch of dopes.
It could be that HR's first game in charge will be against Aston Villa, the only game of the next 3 that we have half a chance of getting 3 points from.
Maybe too I'm clutching at straws but we must have had some negotiations with Arry. no way could TF or PB seriously believe Hughes can turn things around after last week.
Arry for what I can see is our only saviour.
The board must do the right thing, and I strongly believe they will.

I agree with Geng on this one. I think Sunderland are there for taking if we turn up with the attitude that we want to win it.Originally posted by BUSHRANGER1982 View PostI like your optimism.
Terrible, Sunderland maybe.
But they beat Foolham away 1-3 last game. We are rock bottom with just a lousy 4 points to our name, and after last Saturday's disgraceful showing against the Saints, looking as far away from that elusive first win than ever before.
Yes they beat Fulham but Fulham had 10 men for 90% of the game but they still looked the better side for 90mins and had they taken their chances actually should have got at least a draw from the game.
Sunderland looked poor and given our start we need to target a win at Stadium of light and come away at the very least with a point

I don't believe for an instant that Fernandes is looking to sack Hughes, the result against Southampton was a real nadir but I suspect Tony and Phil will apply some circular logic in considering that it can't get any worse for the immediate future.

Would have thought that against the likes of Southampton, would show up true deficiancies in our team, not MU.Originally posted by Shania View PostIf there is a game where Harry can see where we are bad itīs against UTD. away.
MU, on their day, are capable of making even a decent side look cr4p. Not a true reflection against MU....imo.
