Nobody knows what's needed. The requirement is only dependant on how poor the teams near the bottom are. I haven't looked at the table as it's too painful, but what are we, about 6 points form safety...? Hardly an impossible challenge is it.Originally posted by NortholtRanger View PostNo chance are we staying up, not when you put it like that. 13 wins from 26 needed

13 wins would give us 39 points, add our 4 would give us 43 which is about the average needed to stay up.Originally posted by Del View PostNobody knows what's needed. Actually, having just checked, on average over the last 9 years, the 4th bottom side would stay up with 35.5 points.Originally posted by NortholtRanger View Post13 wins would give us 39 points, add our 4 would give us 43 which is about the average needed to stay up.
Last year we stayed up with 37.

It's not an exact science and as said, nobody knows what will be needed. 3 years ago you'd stay up with 31 points, but in any given season there could be 3 whipping boys who are shocking and all only get 20 points, meaning a team on 21 points would survive. The only thing worth looking at is we are 5 points from safety, meaning we have to claw back 5 points on Saints, Villa and Reading over 26 matches..... i see that as very possible with a good manager at the helm.Originally posted by NortholtRanger View PostSo 11 wins would be the minimum. Hard to see where they are gonna come from when we cant even beat the likes of Reading, West Ham and Southampton at home. 1 point against the 3 promoted teams. Shocking.

Mark Hughes is poor at tactics and he don't even know his best team to start with, what he ven do in the training ground, we will never know
yes most managers would do a better job than hm, even neil warnock could with the players we got at the club, hughes just cant get the best out of them

Hardly. If people are so adament we have no chance of making up 5 points over Reading, Villa, Southampton over a 26 game period with our sqaud, then you must be saying the squad is playing to it's potential, not underperforming, therefore how can Hughes be at fault...Originally posted by scuberry View PostAnybody thinking we could stay up with what we have are having a larf,we have to get a manager in now who will give it a go but with one eye on the championship to get us straight back up,is Harry that man given his age an all ??
