Team for Stoke........

They have a very big pitch which is some ways might suit us. We need to keep the ball like we did at Spurs. We need to frustrate the home fans as they have only won one game in about 17 games and play possession football before players like Tarabat and Hoilett can do their stuff.

Have to neutralise their midfield, hence five across. Their wingers and full backs have to be stopped playing in high balls to Crouch otherwise he'll have a field day. It's not the sort of game for Ferdinand and why I'd have Hill instead. It'll be a tear up and Hill is more than capable for such a game.

Cisse can't play as a lone striker. His hold up play is shocking.

I think we should just go for it 4 4 2. Might as well lose by 2 or 3 and have a good go. Think teams expect us to go defensive and so all out attack would give them something to think about.

You never know, could go 2 nil up and then go 5 across the middle !!!!!!!!!

Stoke actually have the smallest pitch in the Premiership, width ways it's terribly small (the reason why they like hoofing it and throwing it in so much). I think we should do what we done against Reading and crowd the middle, because that's what Stoke are going to do, and we just catch them on the counter attack and with some crosses into the box. Just for this match I think we should play the exact same formation and lineup as we did vs Reading, but bring in Zamora for Mackie up front.

Last year Warnock made a good move to play Hill LB to act as an extra CB when defending the set pieces and throw ins, then Traore LM, so we could do that again as it worked
