    Would you Swap...........

............Dyer & Ephraim for DJ Campbell & Bothroyd in our squad of 25 right now?

Personally I think Hughes has dropped a huge clanger by freezing out the players he didn't like before he had found adequate replacements. You can call the Andy Johnson injury bad luck but the facts speak for themselves. We went into this season with only 3 strikers in their 30's who all have been known to have injury problems. Even with AJ fit we still would only have 1 striker who can hold the ball up. Now we are left with only 2 options, start both strikers and have nothing on the bench to switch things up or start with Bobby Zamora and the likes of Taarabt and/or Hoillett playing off him.

I don't want to be negative or start bashing the manager unnecessarily but I think if we had options up front we’d be at least 3 or 4 points better off by now.

Good post Tarbie and I agree, he has picked a poorly balanced squad.

This. Rather Dyer than Betty though all day every day.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Totally agree Matty . Betty is about as useful as a chocolate teapot and his picture appears next to the world lazy in the dictionary

DJ Campbell for me. shame he wasnt given a chance.
dyer is one match man a season.. waste of space and time.
Ephraim I like the block but I dnt know where he would fit? better if he gets some play time in some other team to prove himself. the problem he just played a handful games even in championship year..

For the record, I do agree with all the posters on here that have pointed out that Bothroyd is useless. All I'm saying is he would offer us more options that either Dyer and Ephraim who offer us nothing that we don't have already in abundance. Maybe there is even an argument that we should have held onto Helgusson, even though Cardiff paid a good price for him!

Think we should of kept Helguson, would win more in the air and hold the ball up better than Zamora is at the moment.

DJ is hardly ripping up the Championship though and I wouldn't mind betting he won't do either.

And there is the truth of it,........... said the other day there was loads of posters after a few games and a terrible miss v Man U that were saying get rid, not sure he is the answer.
I too wonder if HH should have been kept instead.

HH was great for us and think he probably could have done a job this season but on the subject of dj Ipswich arnt ripping up the championship either and from what I've read/seen of them offer very little creatively . The best striker in the world would struggle with no service . We however seem to get chances in the box bit don't have the poacher type player to tuck them away and get on the end of all the good build up play . He's not the top class striker we all crave but I do think dj could do a job in that sense as he does know where the goal is . And he'd play with that extra bit of passion being rangers . Don't think we've got a lot to loose giving him a try in jan

Me too, and I would have had DJ in instead of Ephraim and Dyer.

QPR dont have any cover for Zamora and Helguson would have provided this. And DJ would have been a good sub to bring on. Whereas Ephraim serves no purpose whatsoever and Dyer is as good as finished as a player. I hope neither of them get in the January squad.

I'd swap DJ for Ephraim, if only because Ephraim being in the squad is utterly pointless. Problem is with Cisse not scoring we're looking light up front. Guidetti on loan from City in January would be a good move.
