Mackie was ok in the championship, had a few decent games last season but overall he's not really good enough at this level on a consistent bass. Nothing against him just not quite up to it. Just about worth a place in the 25 but that's about it.
Let's not forget we are trying to up our quality.

I didn't mate no so I'm not commenting on his performance but just makes me laugh how some people seem to be total experts at analysing games and performances .

you don,'t need to be an expert to see that JM is Championship or a club hoping for 4th from bottom at best standard.
Of course, because he is a good lad and a grafter we are not allowed to criticise him.

can I just say that some players have limitations, it's not their fault
all players have a level that they are competent in, JM is not quite up to the mark, nothing personal, a trier no question but not quite good enough at this level is the bottom line

If so, not sure the need for a stroppy comment like that when its quite clear nobody has ever said you cant criticise him - just because theres a debate and people dare to disagree it doesnt mean those disagreeing are saying youre not allowed to criticise - its simply a differing of opinions

For the record, I agree with the sentiment of your post regards Mackie, he is limited we all know that. He does a good job sometimes and will chip in with assists and a couple of goals, as he showed last year, and he will always give you 100% but he isnt quite good enough to be performing at the level required on a consistent basis. Decent squad player to have, but wouldnt have him in any of my starting 11s anymore.

I've always said he was tosh and I always will. Running at people and hoping they move out of your way does not and never will work!....as for his passing....he's a lovely lad and gives 100%? Whoopee doo! Ramage is a lovely lad and gives 100% but he was not good enough either.
