Double Standards

Why were Sjoke allowed to change their named 25 man squad and name Michael Owen but when we needed a keeper last season cause all of ours were carrying injuries we were jogged on by the Premier League

no it was reported as Stoke had already selected 25 and required dispensation from premier league to change it...now been granted

Sky said that they had named 25 and had to not only ask permission to add Owen but to change the named squad

Perhaps he got special treatment due to not meeting the normal height requirements for Stoke.

No apparently named the 25 but when Owen signed asked the Prem for special permission to add him to the squad. Owen has been hedging his bets for the whole summer and had ample time to sign before the the squad deadline. Why he never signed 24hrs before is beyond me but given they named their squad then 24hrs later signed him I would have told them to take a run and jump.

They have both played the system

I thought it was announced he'd signed before the squad deadline so as the deal was on the cards, they really mustve been as stupid as they look to have submitted a squad initially.
