more chance of FV occurring outside a ground these days,perhaps allseater stadia did play a small part in the downturn in FV from a crowd control point of veiw (banning orders, cctv,prison sentences,jack n jill's all helped)I think that terracing does lead to a more Exuberant matchday atmosphere but I think seating has definitley made the crowd control situation easier,its easy to film/spot trouble makers but with the new style safe standing you wouldn't have the density of an old style terrece you'd still be able to identify trouble makers or dangerous life threatening situations occurring ie Hillsborough type overcrowding and throw in the latest cctv to boot and I dont think we'd be catarpulted back into a 1970's taking of ends scenario!!

Hopefully you are right. The only thing about seating tho is because everyone has a designated number there is never over-crowding. You can obviously fit more people standing so its already crowded. And as we all know, loads of extra people used to get in one way or another for big games. The nearest I came to injury in the old Loft was due to over-exuberance when we scored - people wd just surge forward and throw themselves about. Great atmosphere at the time but not sure it wd meet modern 'elf and safety standards.

fv is finished bar the odd scuffle outside the ground so thats no longer a problem-the grounds in england are the safest in europe regarding that. the issue will be about people's safety from crushing etc-hillsborough will for obvious reasons be used as the main objection towards standing. i hope that it can be solved and they introduce standing areas again. have a feeling it will be a watered down version of the old days and end up being sithe.
